Where and when?

The consultation is conducted via Skype video, so it is conveniently at your home. Save you time to travel.

Shirley is available for online consultations for the following times :

Morning sessions

  • 8am to 12 noon — Tuesday to Friday

Evening sessions

  • 8.15pm to 9pm — Monday to Friday

Weekend

  • the above times maybe available on weekend by early appointment. Please contact Shirley at shirley@shirleychong.com.au for more information.

Yes, it is always a good idea to book a reservation at your earliest convenience so we may accommodate your schedule. You can book an appointment by contacting Shirley at :

What if I am late for my appointment?

Log in late to Skype will simply limit the time of your consultation, thus lessening time for Shirley to collect all necessary information and time to address your questions and concerns. Depending if there is a client booked immediately after, Shirley will try her best to accommodate and allow the full consult time especially if lateness is due to unforeseeable events. However, if there is appointment booked after yours, your consult will end on time so the following client is not delayed.

What if I have special health concerns?

This will be covered in the questionnaire prior to your initial visit. Please inform Shirley if you are pregnant or have a serious illness during your consultation.

What if I have to cancel my appointment?

We understand that sometimes you need to change your schedule or unforeseeable circumstances arise. We kindly ask that you give 24 hours notice so that someone else may see Shirley.  A fee may be charged if a patient does not show up for an appointment without sufficient notice.

What are the consultation fees and herb costs?

Initial consultation (50-60 mins) $65
Follow-up consultations (30 mins) $50

Herbal Medicines are at additional cost
Approximate cost per week :

— Powder Herbs $40-$55
— Dried Herbs $35-$55

What is Skype video call? What do I need to do?

Skype is an online tool that allows you to make internet (video) calls for FREE.  Skype video call let both parties to be able to talk and see each on video. For more information and how to set up Skype, please click to its official website. So basically, what you need to do is : –

  1. Download Skype
  2. Connect a video camera and microphone (most laptop these days come with inbuilt camera and microphone) to your computer
  3. Sign up an account with Skype
  4. Look for Shirley in skype (Shirley’s skype name is shirlchong or her email address at skype is shirley@shirleychong.com.au)
  5. You make an appointment with Shirley
  6. Bingo! We shall do the consult on Skype video at the appointment time.

Can I claim private health insurance rebates for herbal medicine?


Shirley is a registered Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner, and most private health insurers now provide cover to Chinese Herbal Medicine. However, this depends on the level of coverage you have and your insurance company. Please enquire when booking your appointment. Should you not specify your health fund at the time of booking, we cannot guarantee that you will receive a health fund rebate.
